Customize Left and Right AirPod Controls: Independent Force Sensor Settings

AirPods Pro, AirPods 3, and AirPods Max support independent control customization for left and right earbuds. Assign different functions to each side’s force sensor (stem press) or Digital Crown. Available controls per earbud: ∙ Noise control (toggle between Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency, and Off) ∙ Siri ∙ Volume control (AirPods Pro 2nd gen only via swipe gestures) ∙ Playback controls (not customizable, always press once to play/pause) Setup: Settings > Bluetooth > Tap “i” next to connected AirPods > Select “Left” or “Right” under Press and Hold AirPods > Choose function. Common configurations: Left for noise control, right for Siri. Or left for volume down, right for volume up (AirPods Pro 2nd generation with swipe controls). Works with AirPods Pro (1st and 2nd generation), AirPods 3rd generation, and AirPods Max. Requires iOS 14 or later for basic customization, iOS 16 for volume swipe controls on AirPods Pro 2nd gen.
