## Pause a recording while recording
1. While recording, tap or swipe up on the recording field at the bottom of your screen to bring it into full-screen view.
2. Tap the pause symbol to stop recording temporarily.
3. Tap Resume to continue
Rename your recording
Be sure to give your file a new name so you can find it easily in the future. Here’s how to do that:
- Tap the recording.
- Tap on the name.
- Type your new file name. (You can also tap on the name while recording)
Trim or delete parts of a recording:
- Tap the three dots, then Edit Recording
- Use the crop tool to select the section you want to keep or delete
- Click Trim or Delete before save
Easily replace part of a voice memo or continue it:
- Tap the three dots, then Edit Recording.
- Select the section you want to replace.
- Tap Replace to start recording and overwrite parts of your previous recording
- Tap pause when done
- Check and save changes
Skip silences and enhance the recording:
- Tap the audio file
- Tap the settings icon in the top left
- Turn on Skip Silence and Enhance Recording. (You can also use the slider to speed up or slow down)
- Tap the play button
(PS: This doesn't change your original recording)
Transcribe a Recording:
- Save your audio file to iCloud.
- Download WhisperBoard for free from the app store
- Open your file
- Click on "Transcribe"
- If the transcription isn't accurate enough, select a different language or use a larger and more precise model.
