Safari Secrets Unveiled: 9 Incredible Things You Didn't Know Your iPhone Browser Could Do
The most used app on iPhone is Safari. But it is more powerful than you think! 9 things Safari can do, you’ll wish you knew yesterday:
1/9 Add to Home Screen
You can add all webpages as an app to your Home Screen. Some websites even have special views where the address bar disappears.
To do this, click on the share icon on a website, select "Add to Home Screen," and tap "Add."
2/9 Search across all open tabs
Are you struggling to find that one tab? Go to tab view and scroll to the top until a search field appears. You can now search across all your tabs!
3/9 Close all tabs
Close all tabs in Safari manually by holding down the new-tab button in your browser or "Done" when viewing all your tabs. Then select "Close all tabs."
4/9 Close unused tabs automatically
Go to Settings > Safari > Close Tabs. You can then choose how often you want to clear your tabs, like every day, every week ++
5/9 Pin tab
Do you have some websites you never want to close? Pin them in Safari by long holding the tab in the tab view and selecting "Pin tab."
6/9 See recently closed tabs
Did you close a tab by mistake? Open the tab view and hold down on the plus button. A list of your recently closed tabs will pop up.
7/9 Move the address bar to the top again
iOS 15 moved the address bar to the bottom for easier reachability. If you want it back at the top, you can press the two AAs in your address bar and select: "Show Top Address Bar."
8/9 Customize new tab
You can customize how your browser looks when you open a new tab! To customize the view, tap "edit" at the bottom of a new tab. You can now select what to show and even set a background image.
9/9 Use Reader Automatically on selected websites
Turn it on by tapping the two AAs in the address bar and selecting "Show Reader." Tap it again, choose "Website settings," and check "Use Reader Automatically." It will now turn on by default when you visit that domain!
